Technical History and International Equivalents of DIN EN ISO 4029

Equivalent standards: UNI EN ISO 4029 ISO 4029 BS EN ISO 4029
This International standard (DIN EN ISO 4029) specifies the characteristics of hexagon socket set screws with cup point and threads from M1,6 up to and including M24 and of product grade A. These set screws are mainly used with hardened shafts, die castings and other soft materials where high tightening torques are not possible.

The main materials used for the production of set screws are: AISI 420 (48-52 HRC) top mechanical properties and corrosion resistance; 45 H (14.9) standard and heavy-duty applications; 33H (12.9) 22H (8.8) used in applications where moderate stress is requested, large diameters; 21H STAINLESS STEEL A2-A4 excellent corrosion strength and heat resistance; 14H (4.6) for applications where moderate stress is required, threaded pins.
