Technical History and International Equivalents of DIN EN ISO 10510

Combi-selftapping screws with captive washer - sems

This standard (DIN 10510 and equivalents) specifies the requirements for tapping screws and plain washer assemblies with thread sizes from ST2,2 to ST9,5 inclusive, flat seating heads and mechanical properties as specified in ISO 2702.

Sems screws are often called: Captivated Washers, Screw Washer Assemblies or Combi Screws. They are a combination of a screw or bolt with a built in unloosable and free to rotate washer or set of washers. The technology has brought benefits to assembly lines the world over. Sems screws are being used to make product assembly more cost effective in many industries including automotive and micro electronics.
