DIN 580 Standard Dimensions for Lifting eye bolts
Lifting eye bolts
This standard specifies the characteristics of eye bolts made of steel and stainless steel and provides information for their correct use in hoist operations (as part of slings and as a load suspension device). Eye bolts conforming to this standard are suitable for use at temperatures ranging from -20 °C to +200 °C without a reduction in their lifting capacity. The EU Directive EN 2006/42 / EC defines the eyebolts as lifting accessories. Therefore both the manufacturer and the importer must comply with all requirements specified in the Directive for the marketing of eyebolts in EU countries. Compliance with all the rules and Community specifications is ensured by CE marking. Also the user is obliged in accordance with the laws and regulations relating to safety at work to make sure that the lifting eyes, being lifting accessories, have all the characteristics suitable for the CE marking before they are put in use.
